River attended Caltech from 2009-2013 and graduated with honors and a double major in Math and Economics. Starting partway through her senior year of school, she began working in the League of Legends esports scene and soon became the lead admin/president of Leaguepedia. Since then she’s worked as a community manager, Lua/Python/web developer, marketing copywriter and copyeditor, developer advocate, project manager, and database design consultant, primarily in the MediaWiki ecosystem. She specializes in data schemas for wikis with design and update policies tailored to individual wiki developers’ needs and experience levels.
Aside from coding, River has had several hobbies over the years, including modular origami (did you know how good Sonobe unit polyhedra with edge-length 1 are at demonstrating duality of the Platonic solids?), chainmaille jewelry (Moorish Rose can be extended to a new weave that she created and named Moorish 8-4 by using a different Euclidean tiling of the plane!), and doing jigsaw puzzles without using the picture on the box (Stave teasers are a favorite).
You can reach River in any of the MediaWiki chat rooms on Matrix; she loves talking about ways to do cool things in Cargo. If you’re working on a wiki.gg wiki, you can also reach her in the official wiki.gg Discord. If not, and you want involved help / code written for you, she’s available for consultation, and you can reach her via any of the links in the site’s footer.
